Happy Birthday to Darcy

Happy Birthday to Darcy, our "drooly grill" (as Jesh says).

For her birthday, I wanted to post a little about what our one-year-old girl is like.

• She has lots to say, but only one word so far: Da-da!!! (Always said in a way that requires exclamation points.) She chats at me all day long, and she understands a lot of what I say to her.

• Offer her blanket and her thumb automatically goes in her mouth.

• She is a light but happy sleeper.

• She loves soft things, especially her blanket, the kitty Shawna gave Jesh, and Jesh's white teddy bear. She will face plant in ecstasy on that oversized, plush bear Jason gave us.

• She pays a lot of attention to how we (bigger people) do things. She tries to wear my shoes. If she finds a purse, she'll put it over her arm and drag it around. She wants her food served the same size and consistency as Jesh's.

• She loves Jesh. She smiles for him like no one else, and it melts him (though he as zero tolerance for drool).

And she is walking!
