Here are some pictures and videos from our week.
One day Sally and I were going to the grocery store, and she dumped her scrambled eggs on the ground on our way there. She was really upset about it at the store. On the way home, we saw several sparrows eating the eggs, and it made her so happy.
We had some great outfits this week. Jesh decided to wear a tie with this outfit because he insists the shirt is a church shirt. (Church shirt = anything with a collar, even if it has a jersey hood sewn in.)
I had to go back to the church on a Sunday afternoon for a meeting, and Darcy came back with me in this outfit. Part of what made it so funny was that her hair was in a bunch of tiny braids.
Yesterday we went to the Museum of Natural History (the museum in Night at the Museum). I didn't take any pictures while we were inside because it was crazy crowded and it took 100 percent of my focus not to lose my children.
Afterward we went to Shake Shack, my favorite burger place, for lunch. Darcy was cold so she put on her mittens and then put her thumbs through the thumb holes in her shirt.
We had a transfer at Times Square on our way home, which is a busy, complicated station. In one of the common areas connecting platforms, a Muslim family was passing out pamphlets and copies of the Quran to help dispel misunderstandings about Islam. They were so similar to us — I could just imagine an LDS family handing out pass along cards and copies of the Book of Mormon. It really touched my heart. They were also offering free henna tattoos for women, so Darcy and I stopped by.
Darcy did really well with the tattoos. She sat like a statue while the woman applied the henna, she carefully guarded it from smudging, and then she picked all the dried henna off both of us with relish. (Wait until she discovers sunburn peeling!) Here is Darcy explaining the tattoos while we wait for our train.
We didn't have her coat with us so she wore mine on the walk home. She was delighted. She acted like it was the funniest thing that had happened all day.
Today she was eating frozen blueberries out of a sweet pepper.
She asked me to come take a picture of her on the couch.
And then Sally wanted some attention too!

That outfit Darcy picked is pretty amazing. She looks like she's on her way to record her new studio album.
